and...now for a *totally different type* of wedding!! UNDERWATER - Very Brave!

If you are planning an underwater wedding you will probably only need a few bridal accessories to compliment the ceremony. Additionally you will also need to organise a reception for the family and friends who plan to travel with you to your chosen destination. However if you are having an underwater wedding, some of the accessories you need will not necessarily be the traditional wedding accessories but rather the equipment required to dive underwater. Likely you will need scuba gear, a boat, the rings and a special mask for repeating your vows. You should not have to buy this equipment, but be able to rent it from the chapel so to speak.

Before you gather your bridal accessories together for the ceremony, you obviously need to take a couple classes to learn not only how to scuba dive but also I would imagine not to panic underwater, and also what to do in an emergency situation.

This is most important and a part of the agreement with the company that agrees to marry you underwater. After your training and their assessment of you and your wedding party's diving abilities and them deeming you and yours as being safe to continue with the "underwater plan"for the big dive, you can begin to plan your dream/adventurous wedding.

In advance you will need to check the weather and prepare the invitations for your family and friends to come to the boat. You could probably put a few decorations on the boat, so that your guests do not have to venture into the water if they prefer not to. They can stay put in both their clothes and in the boat.

These hire boats are equipped with speakers and a video view of the ceremony underwater. So it would be a good ideas to incorporate some bridal accessories so that your guests can feel the thrill that you and your partner are feeling. A unity candle to light as you come up from underwater would be rather beautiful out at sea. You will not sign the marriage license until you reach land -that is when you will be officially married. After the marriage license is signed let the celebrations begin and if you have chosen Australia as the destination for your underwater marriage ceremony, you could plan a reception with an Australian theme.

The bridal accessories for your Australian reception could or could not include little kangaroo table decorations, which you might like to give everyone as a reminder ofyour special day. As is the norm you would plan your reception with a wedding cake so you may want to rent or buy a cake accessory set. However as flying internationally with the cake and/or accessories will probably be a no go, you might want to forgo this tradition all together. On the other hand Australians are normally quite good cooks so you could hit the 'net and find yourself a catering company or even a restaurant willing to prepare a wedding cake to your specifications and have it delivered to the wedding site at your specified time.

A good idea for your reception, bearing in mind that you were married underwater, could be beach party for your guests. Anything is possible when you have an underwater destination wedding . For the reception, you might include some clothes on your bridal accessories list, but probably it would be a swimsuit complete with a soft flowing robe in a fabric such as muslin with some pretty sandals to show off your pedicured and tanned feet. I also imagine that a beach wedding could be quite romantic with the bridal party all wearing soft, white flowing beach clothes, and if you wanted to really have a pretty wedding the women could wear fragrant flower wreaths in their hair . Flowers, candles, soft rugs, champagne, cane chairs and cushions all under a canvas beach canopy could really be quite beautiful. Imagine dusk, waves lapping the shore and the stars all coming out to twinkle down on your wedding - sounds blissful to me!

Theme wedding are wonderful, but underwater wedding are something unique and unusual. In the coming years, bridal couples may even be able to enjoy their honeymoon under water. Other areas of the world are in the process of building underwater honeymoon suites for newlyweds. This along with the underwater wedding will make the entire wedding a true delight. So if you are looking for a really different type of wedding and honeymoon, you might want to keep an eye on the underwater hotels being built in the coming years.

ps As an addendum to this article comes the information that in fact in Dubai there is an underwater hotel under construction - may even be completed as I write.
pps As an after thought if you wish to check out ebay for some or all of your diving items at auctions prices click the link on the article header for your ease you will go straight into ebay - good hunting!
